Job description
EY-Parthenon Senior Associate - Financial Diligence (Financial Services)

Location: Primary location only

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

The opportunity

Our Financial Services Transaction Diligence team assists clients throughout the transaction process, working closely with other EY specialists. Traditional financial due diligence is a key element of our work, but transaction support is much broader, incorporating strategic assessment, transaction management, negotiation and documentation, and post‑completion processes.

Typically, you will analyze the financial results of financial services companies (e.g., banks, insurers, asset manager and FinTechs) targeted for investment by reviewing financial information and conducting interviews with key management. You will work effectively as a team member by demonstrating commitment to quality, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress. You will work on opportunities across ASEAN and occasionally across APAC.

You will also help create a positive learning culture for junior team members and support their development, and participate in account management, business development, and recruitment initiatives.

Your key responsibilities

  • Understand the key business drivers, co‑de‑velop our approach with the client, agree value measurements, and provide insights, factual conclusions, and advice.
  • Gather, verify, and analyze information, and formulate views.
  • Plan, prepare, and review deliverables in various forms including Excel databooks, written reports, presentations, and discussions with the client.
  • Plan and monitor the progress of the team.
  • Work closely with all members and form strong internal links within transaction support and other departments across ASEAN and Asia‑Pacific to build multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Understand the capabilities of the firm and look for opportunities to sell additional services to our clients.

What we look for

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Commercial awareness gained through direct experience of the financial services sector (either from within an Audit or Transaction Support role).
  • Strong academic record.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in the financial services sector.
  • Excellent analytical, report‑writing, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas.

Ideally, you also have

  • A proven record of excellence in merger integration, acquisitions, divestitures, carve‑outs.
  • Experience within another large professional services organization covering the Financial Services industry.
