Job Purpose
To assist Branch Manager (BM) and Section Manager (SM) to plan, organize and manage the CS&M Shop production in meeting the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) on Trains/Equipment/Component timeline. Providing a safe, reliable, quality, and cost-effective operation in the CS&M Shop as well as to lead a team of Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers. To provide engineering and technical support within CS&M.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- To plan and supervise work carried out by the team.
- To assist BM/SM in meeting the key performance indicators set by Division.
- To assist SM in overseeing the dissemination of instructions and procedures issued to team members.
- To assist SM in conducting engineering analysis and investigations on incidents/accidents.
- To analyze system performance (via F&D), perform trending of system faults and provide areas of improvement.
- To conduct detailed investigation for major delay fault and provide or implement remedial actions.
- To conduct periodic safety inspection and audit within CS&M to ensure compliance with the specific standards.
- To coordinate with other departments for any reliability related scope if required.
- To generate system performance report for CS&M.
- To conduct periodic review and implementation of Quality Procedures / Risk Assessment / Work Instructions / Work Records
- To assist BM/SM in preparation of the budgeting and expenses of cost center within CS&M.
- Responsible for the safety of staff under his charge, conducting toolbox briefing/audits, dissemination of safety and admin messages and staff work in accordance to safety procedures.
- Exercise safety always; in accordance to established Safety procedures. Responsible for the safety of self and all co-workers, inclusive of contractors
- Execute productivity improvement initiatives, efficiency drives and innovations for his team and the Branch through active interaction with staff and external partners.
- Able to participate and complete the technical Skills training provided by SMRT and achieve the necessary qualifications to perform maintenance work on SMRT Component Servicing & Maintenance
- Responsible in ensuring workplace order and hygiene.
- Able to work on a shift roster system (as required) in accordance with the MOM guidelines and the Collective Agreement.
- Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works assigned: e.g. attend to emergency mainline incident, as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Preferably 5 years’ relevant experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical equipment.
