Job Summary
The successful candidate will based in Singapore, he/she will lead the Audio and Communications Team. This role is responsible for managing the technical and operational aspects of the department, ensuring seamless broadcast operations, and overseeing projects from setup to completion. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a hands‑on approach to ensure that high-quality audio and communication standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and develop all staff in the Audio and Communication department, coordinating operations across Singapore.
- Provide direction and manage team performance to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of all projects.
- Ensure the team is trained and proficient in the latest technologies and industry standards.
- Oversee hiring, evaluation, promotion, and termination decisions within the department.
- Foster collaboration and alignment between teams in different regions.
Engineering Operations
- Oversee daily audio and communication engineering operations, ensuring smooth execution of broadcast projects.
- Oversee set up, test, and adjust audio and communication equipment for recording sessions, live broadcasts, and other projects.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring it is operational and addressing any issues promptly.
- Operate audio mixers and communication systems during live or recorded events as required.
- Drive improvements in system design, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards across all engineering operations.
Project Management
- Lead the technical planning, setup, and execution of audio and communication projects, ensuring all client needs and specifications are met.
- Coordinate resources and equipment preparation across the entity and ensure smooth execution.
- Participate in client and contractor meetings, aligning technical needs with project goals.
- Ensure effective communication between teams across regions and escalate issues as needed.
- Support post-project analysis, including writing technical reports and conducting equipment testing.
Innovation & Continuous Learning
- Stay informed on the latest technologies and trends in audio and communication broadcasting.
- Lead the adoption of new technologies and workflows to improve department efficiency.
- Encourage continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Budget & Strategic Planning
- Support budget planning for audio and communication equipment, work with Finance on allocations and maintenance, and propose improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency in the Singapore.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8-years experience in an Outside Broadcast environment, with hands‑on exposure to audio, communication systems, and broadcast technologies across flypacks and OB trucks.
- Familiarity with IP-based workflows and systems.
- Flexible and adaptable, comfortable handling new challenges in a fast‑paced environment.
- Well‑organized with the ability to plan ahead, manage priorities, and stay focused during busy periods.
- A team player who works well with others and contributes positively to the team culture.
- Clear and open communicator who values feedback and collaboration.
- Willing to travel regularly, including extended assignments when required.
- Good awareness of workplace safety practices within the broadcast industry.
