Job summary

A leading educational institution in Singapore seeks an experienced educator to conduct lessons and assessments for young learners. Responsibilities include developing instructional materials, monitoring academic progress, and collaborating with parents about their children's development. Preferred candidates will have a degree in Psychology or Education and experience teaching children with learning difficulties. Strong communication skills and the ability to teach Literacy and Mathematics up to PSLE are crucial for this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience with children having developmental and/or learning difficulties.

Job description
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Conducting lessons in a group or individual setting
  • Conducting informal / formal assessments
  • Developing teaching methods and instructional materials that meet young learners’ varying needs
  • Monitoring the academic progress of the students
  • Writing progress report, sharing information and discussing issues relating to students’ learning progress with parents
  • Updating parents regarding sessions and progress after each session (text/photos/videos etc)
  • Updating case notes post‑sessions regularly and independently
  • Conducting Parent‑Teacher Conference held at the end of each term
  • Being involved in the conduct of awareness talks and training courses
  • Being engaged in curriculum and resource design and development, action research and pilot studies
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Psychology, Education (Special Education) or Early Childhood (Special Needs) would be an advantage
  • Other degrees with relevant work experience can be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis
  • Able to teach Literacy and Mathematics up to PSLE and/or ‘O’ level curriculum
  • Able to teach children from 4 years old and up
  • Received specific training in literacy and phonics programs e.g., Orton‑Gillingham Approach, Lindamood‑Bell program, Dyscalculia, and numeracy teaching would be an advantage
  • Experience working with children with developmental and/or learning difficulties e.g., Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, mild ASD etc
  • Experience teaching young children in a small group (4 kids) or classroom setting in a preschool /early childhood or enrichment centre is an advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as being a team player
