Job description
Editor - Analyst (Supply Chain & Logistics Inte...

Our Vision is to be the preferred talent partner in Asia to accurately identify and integrate high potential talents for our clients and accomplish our candidates' career success.

Over the years, we have innovated and improved how we identify and assess talents to deliver our clients' successful talent strategies.

Our client, Value Chain Asia is an independent editorial platform focused on supply chain and logistics leadership in Asia. They curate executive-level insight. Their work sits at the intersection of editorial judgment, industry intelligence, and senior leadership conversations.

Their brand is designed for long-term credibility and strategic relevance, with the ambition to become Asia's most trusted supply chain intelligence brand. This role sits at the core of VCA's differentiation. The Editor-Analyst is responsible for turning access and information into intelligence. Done well, this role directly shapes VCA's credibility, monetisation potential, and long‑term strategic value.

The Role

  • They are looking for an Editor-Analyst to lead the development of VCA's intelligence-driven editorial content.
  • This is not a traditional journalism role and not a research analyst position. It is a hybrid role requiring strong editorial judgment, intellectual confidence, and the ability to synthesize complex, incomplete information into clear insight for senior decision‑makers.
  • You will shape how supply chain leaders, investors, and operators understand what is changing across Asia.

The Challenges

  • Lead editor‑led intelligence pieces (VCA Analysis, thematic dossiers, research synthesis)
  • Frame and refine complex topics such as investment risk, network design, resilience, infrastructure, talent, and geopolitics
  • Synthesize inputs from executive interviews, roundtables, third‑party research, and market observation
  • Decide what matters and what does not, exercising strong editorial judgment
  • Maintain a consistent, authoritative editorial voice across all intelligence formats
  • Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to uphold VCA's editorial standards and positioning
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts without ceding narrative control
  • Ensure content is insightful, opinionated, and decision‑relevant — not descriptive

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a content writer role
  • Not a PR or communications position
  • Not a vendor thought‑leadership role
  • Not academic or data‑heavy research
  • If you are optimised for volume, SEO, or promotional storytelling, this role will not be a fit.

What It Takes

  • A strong editorial background with exposure to business, strategy, or industry analysis
  • Experience interpreting complex systems (supply chain, infrastructure, policy, finance, or operations)
  • The confidence to make informed judgments without waiting for perfect data
  • Comfort writing for senior executives, boards, and investors
  • The ability to read widely, think independently, and write clearly
  • Intellectual curiosity and discipline, not ideology
  • You do not need to be a supply chain practitioner, but you must be able to understand and challenge senior operators quickly.

What We Look For

  • Excellent long‑form writing and synthesis skills
  • Strong critical thinking and pattern recognition
  • Editorial courage — the ability to take a point of view
  • Professional maturity and discretion
  • Interest in Asia's economic, political, and operational complexity
