Job Summary
The Director of IT is responsible for the operational management and execution of the hotel group’s technology initiatives. The Director will oversee daily IT functions across all properties, ensuring the company’s systems and networks run smoothly and securely. The Director will also manage IT projects, support the digital needs of the hotels, and ensure IT solutions align with the company’s objectives and guest service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational IT Management:
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations at the corporate level and across hotel properties.
- Ensure that IT infrastructure (networks, servers, cloud solutions) is secure, reliable, and scalable to meet business needs.
- Oversee IT support to hotel properties, ensuring efficient help desk operations and timely resolution of technical issues.
- Project Implementation:
- Lead the implementation of IT projects at the property level, ensuring they align with broader business strategies.
- Monitor and report on the progress of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Cybersecurity and Compliance:
- Manage property-level cybersecurity measures, ensuring the protection of data and systems from threats.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with corporate standards and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Oversee the IT department’s overall budget, including capital expenditures and operational costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to optimize vendor contracts and technology investments at a global level.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage vendor relationships for IT services, software, and hardware, ensuring service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate with vendors for IT services, ensuring favorable terms and pricing.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor the IT team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative team environment to encourage problem-solving and innovation.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with other business units, and departments such as operations, finance, and marketing to drive technology adoption that enhances business performance.
- Ensure that IT systems are optimized for guest experience, operations efficiency, and digital marketing campaigns.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience: 10-15 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a management role within the hospitality industry.
- Operational Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud solutions at a property level, including PMS, POS, and guest service technology.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead IT teams and deliver technology solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Experience with hotel-specific applications and systems (e.g., PMS, POS).
- Certification in project management e.g. PMP or IT service management e.g. ITIL
- Hands‑on experience in managing cybersecurity measures and ensuring regulatory compliance.
