Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Analytics Consultant with strong expertise in SQL and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML)

This is a hands-on technical role focused on development, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of dashboards and web-based operational tools. The role does not involve program management or strategic oversight. The consultant will translate business requirements and UI/UX mock-ups into robust, scalable, and high-impact technical solutions.

Key Objectives

• Centralize Data: Aggregate disparate data sources (logs, ticketing systems, monitoring alerts, etc.) into unified, reliable datasets.
• Generate Actionable Intelligence: Transform raw operational metrics into intuitive dashboards that drive rapid decision-making (e.g., MTTR, server utilization, incident trends).
• Process Automation: Replace manual spreadsheet-based tracking with automated web tools for asset management and incident reporting.

Scope of Services

Phase 1: Discovery & Technical Validation

• Review Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and UI/UX mock-ups.
• Audit existing data sources (SQL databases, BigQuery, BigTable, Spanner, APIs, Google Apps Script).
• Conduct gap analysis between design requirements and technical feasibility.
• Validate data integrity, structure, and accessibility.

Phase 2: Architecture & Data Engineering

• Design scalable backend architecture for high-frequency data ingestion.
• Build and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines.
• Normalize and cleanse data prior to visualization.
• Develop automated incident reporting and stakeholder notification mechanisms.

Phase 3: Development (Dashboards & Web Tools)

Dashboards

• Develop interactive dashboards with drill-down capabilities, filtering, and time-series analysis.
• Utilize enterprise-grade tools such as:
  • Looker Studio
  • BigQuery
  • Pix Trix (or similar)
  • Custom web-based solutions

Web Tools

• Develop frontend interfaces for operations teams.
• Build automation scripts using Google Apps Script or comparable technologies.
• Create tools for data entry, script triggering, asset management, and configuration management.

Phase 4: Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Produce comprehensive technical documentation:
  • Architecture diagrams
  • Data dictionaries
  • Query logic documentation
• Develop user manuals and FAQs.
• Support production deployment and project sign-off.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain operational dashboards providing real-time performance insights.
• Develop, discover, and maintain source datasets (including manual dataset creation where necessary).
• Write complex, optimized SQL queries (joins, subqueries, window functions, performance tuning).
• Translate BRDs and mock-ups into fully functional technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain web tools and automation scripts.
• Implement data validation and quality assurance protocols.
• Provide troubleshooting and ongoing technical support.
• Maintain structured documentation for dashboards, queries, tools, and processes.
• Interpret stakeholder feedback during UAT and refine deliverables without scope creep.

Required Expertise

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and BigQuery.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL database architectures.
• Expertise in complex query optimization and performance tuning.
• Proven experience building enterprise-grade operational dashboards.
• Proficiency in Google Apps Script or comparable scripting languages.
• Experience building automated workflows and lightweight web applications.

Design & Implementation

• Demonstrated ability to convert BRDs and high-fidelity mock-ups into technical solutions with strict adherence to specifications.
• Strong attention to data accuracy, validation, and integrity protocols.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Ability to clearly communicate technical constraints and data anomalies to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience incorporating UAT feedback effectively without expanding project scope.

Execution Model

• Strong autonomous execution capability.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues with minimal supervision.

Domain Knowledge (Preferred)

• Familiarity with telecommunications, networking, or subsea operations terminology and data structures.

Documentation Standards

• Ability to author and maintain comprehensive operational documentation.
• Experience creating structured user guides and FAQs for regional consistency.
