This individual will be our first Contract Manager in the JAPAC Legal team and will be part of a tight-knit global team of legal professionals. In this role, you will administer our inbound commercial contracts from both customers and vendors as well as providing general contract related support for the JAPAC business. Some minor contract drafting may also be required on occasion.

You will lead and contribute to crafting our legal processes to support our international expansion and enable the business to scale at pace. You will also build strong cross-functional relationships with our commercial teams, while enjoying the excitement of a hyper-growth company with an amazing and outstanding culture.

What you’ll do at Figma :
  • Manage commercial contracts between Figma and its customers and vendor.
  • Partnering with relevant business stakeholders - particularly the Figma Sales team.
  • Develop and update legal forms, templates, processes, sales enablement materials, and playbooks.
  • Oversee record-keeping for all contracts and related correspondences, including tracking any non-standard provisions or ongoing obligations.
  • Negotiate minor contracts with Figma customers and vendors e.g. NDAs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for legal operations in JAPAC, with a particular focus on contract administration and managing workload intake and work allocations with the JAPAC legal team.
  • Lead ongoing updates to Figma’s standard term business contracts.

  • Experience facilitating the management of commercial contracts within an in-house legal department.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Have the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently while collaborating on multiple deals, knowing to raise issues when needed.
  • You follow a collaborative approach towards work, with a strong ability to establish relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others both within and outside of the legal team.
  • You can demonstrate a strong work ethic and low ego, and a willingness to tackle and own projects both large and small.
  • You are confident operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
  • You are familiar with and comfortable administering legal technology and related operating systems.
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have :
  • Language skills in Japanese are highly preferred
  • Existing knowledge of Ironclad or a similar contracts management system would be beneficial, but is not crucial.
