Claims Technician
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Major Complex Loss Adjusting Team by providing support with the settlement of claims within the terms of the insurance policy.
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service by managing a portfolio of claims, working closely with manager/team colleagues while also working independently using initiative.
  • Prepare reports to ensure prompt claim settlements and provide essential administrative support, including acceptance of work, issuance of reports, and fee management during the service delivery process.
  • Maintain service and reporting agreements throughout the claims process, from registering the work to issuing reports.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure proper time recording and expense submission.
  • Register claims in the system and issue acceptance of work to clients as instructed by the Lead Adjuster.
  • Ensure reporting templates are consistent and maintain regular contact with the Adjusting Team for service delivery discussions or agreement of actions for complex or challenging claims.
  • Assist in preparation of presentations and ensure consistency in reporting standards and email responses concerning report and fee matters.
  • Comply with Sedgwick processes and procedures, achieve objectives agreed with line manager, and establish and maintain trust with colleagues.
  • Strive for continued personal development and growth by participating in client meetings, workshops, on‑the‑job training for site inspections, and receiving qualified training from professional bodies.
