Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) – Global Cryptocurrency Exchange

Our client is a rapidly growing global cryptocurrency exchange serving millions of users worldwide. They are seeking a world‑class CMO to own the entire global marketing strategy, from brand positioning and narrative to performance marketing, partnerships, community, and PR. The role is a combination of remote and hybrid working with frequent global travel to industry events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the company as a leading voice at top‑tier conferences, media, and industry partnerships
  • Own full‑funnel user acquisition and lifetime value optimization with a significant marketing budget
  • Drive global brand strategy and thought‑leadership positioning in an increasingly regulated environment
  • Partner closely with Product, Compliance, and Executive teams on go‑to‑market for new products and market entries
  • Build and lead a world‑class, distributed marketing organization (performance, brand, content, community, PR, creative, analytics)
Required Experience – Non‑Negotiable
  • Previously served as CMO (or equivalent Head of Marketing) at a Top 15 global cryptocurrency exchange by 24h spot trading volume
  • Personally led marketing during a period of 3x–10x+ user or volume growth at that exchange
  • 10+ years in high‑performance marketing leadership roles; at least the last 4–5 years exclusively in crypto
  • Proven ability to scale multi‑channel acquisition (paid social, search, affiliates, influencers, on‑chain, referrals) while maintaining strong unit economics in volatile markets
  • Deep experience navigating global regulatory frameworks (MiCA, SEC, MAS, VARA, etc.) from a marketing & branding perspective
  • Track record of building and leading global marketing teams across time zones
Preferred (Strong Advantage)
  • Existing public profile and strong personal brand in the crypto industry
  • Active on Crypto Twitter with 50k+ engaged followers
Compensation

Negotiable depending on experience but anticipated in the US$1 mil+ range.
