Job summary

A leading culinary consultancy in Singapore is seeking an experienced Chef responsible for overseeing kitchen operations while specializing in Sichuan, Northeastern, and Hunan cuisines. You will be tasked with planning menus, training kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high sanitation standards. The ideal candidate should possess at least 15 years of culinary expertise and exhibit strong leadership skills. Flexibility to work on weekends and long hours is required.

Job description

Chef Responsibilities:

  • Must have 15 years experiences with Sichuan Cuisine, Northeastern Cuisine, Hunan Cuisine.
  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Flexible adaptability to all roles including dishwashing, disposal of trash etc
  • Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
  • Overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
  • Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  • Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock.
  • Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
  • Willing to work in weekends and public holidays
  • Willing to work long hours
Chef Requirements:
  • Past experience as a working chef.
  • Advanced knowledge of the culinary arts.
  • Perfectionism in sanitation and quality control.
  • Portfolio of creative, unique dishes.
  • Expert multitasking ability.
  • Great leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to run stocktaking and place orders for resupply.
