Job summary

A global technology firm in Singapore is seeking a Drafter I to create mechanical and electrical drawings using 3D CAD software. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, support various projects, and help in creating parts lists and catalog illustrations. Ideal candidates will have a two-year technical degree and a working knowledge of CAD systems like AutoCAD Inventor.

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Drafter I to join the Data Center Power & Control Division, Starline Team in Tuas, Singapore. The Drafter I is responsible for creating mechanical and electrical drawings of low complexity using 3D CAD system and associated BOM via ERP system. Works under clearly defined guidelines and under close supervision of manager, engineers, and other Draftsmen.

What Will You Do?
  • Create dimensioned drawings and 3D models based on input from engineers and customer.
  • Perform basic design work on components as directed including 3D library components and assemblies.
  • Create parts lists for new products.
  • Create catalog pages, illustrations and animations; support work within ERP system.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to new design and project work, including but not limited to Purchasing support, Quality, and Production assistance.
  • Engineering Change Notification (ECN) activities.
Qualifications
Required Skills

Education :

  • Two‑year technical degree, Associates in Mechanical or Electrical Drafting preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor or similar CAD system.
  • Previous intern experience is a plus.
  • Autodesk certification preferred.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities :

  • Aptitude for electro‑mechanical products and applications.
  • Drafting: Ability to create 3D models and assemblies in a CAD environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude: ability to work with those who build, assemble and other Production functions.
  • General electrical knowledge is a plus including the ability to perform low complexity wiring diagrams.

Personal Qualities / Behaviors :

  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
