Your Job

As an Automation Engineer (Vision) at Molex Singapore, you will be an integral part of the Engineering team, supporting and implementing vision systems for new product development. Your role will involve integrating vision systems with robots and machines (MII). You will also handle the exploration and development of new capabilities for Molex, to advance manufacturing technology with software innovation, validation, share lessons learned, and implementation.

Our Team

You will be collaborating extensively with internal departments and external vendors and suppliers. Your role will involve working across different areas such as Machine Design, Controls, Vision, Debug, Production, and Process Development to deliver high-quality automation solutions.

What You Will Do

Technical Execution (80%)

  • Carry out vision system setup, testing, and validation under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Perform measurement verification, correlation, and GR&R studies to support qualification activities.
  • Assist in documenting studies, maintaining vision SOPs, and updating training/qualification records.
  • Support project tasks by monitoring progress, preparing reports, and ensuring alignment with project timelines.
  • Participate in equipment duplication and transfer activities, including setup and initial troubleshooting.
  • Provide support for new machine integration involving robotics, controls, software, and vision programming.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and brainstorming sessions to propose solutions to technical problems.

Collaboration & Support (20%)

  • Work closely with Mechanical, Control, Product Design, AQP/QA, and Assembly Engineers to ensure readiness for manufacturing inspection.
  • Provide technical assistance to Specialists and Technicians during installations or troubleshooting, as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to Production Specialists and Technicians on vision system operation and SOPs to ensure proper knowledge transfer and effective execution.
  • Support compliance with PBM Guiding Principles and organizational requirements.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Degree / Diploma in Software, Electrical, Mechatronic Engineering
  • 2-3 years working in machine camera vision/scanner/X-ray system development and/or implementation.
  • Ability to implement machine camera vision applications.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in software programming, optics, machine vision lighting, automation.
