A leading engineering firm is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Irrigation Systems) based in Singapore. The role supports the full project lifecycle from design to handover, requiring experience in irrigation systems and strong communication skills. You'll coordinate with various stakeholders, perform site management, and ensure documentation is up to date. This position offers a competitive salary based on experience and may entail site-based and hybrid work arrangements.
The Assistant Project Manager (Irrigation Systems) supports the full project lifecycle of irrigation and rainwater harvesting works — from design coordination and procurement, to site execution, testing & commissioning, and handover. The role requires strong technical understanding, proactive coordination, and the ability to uphold Koon Seng’s standards in workmanship, communication, and documentation.
Assist the Project Manager in planning project timelines, milestones, and weekly targets.
Coordinate with consultants, architects, main contractors, and other trades to resolve design or site issues.
Ensure all drawings, method statements, materials, and submissions are prepared accurately and on time.
Participate in technical meetings and prepare minutes of meeting (MOM) with clear action items.
Understand irrigation designs, including:
Dripline, sprinklers, valve zoning, QCV, pressure regulation
RWH prioritisation, PUB/NEWater make-up integration
Control logic, interlocking, timing cycles, and system schematics
Review shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and layouts for technical accuracy.
Assist in preparing conceptual design proposals when required.
Carry out regular site walks to ensure correct installation, workmanship quality, and adherence to specifications.
Identify and raise site issues early; propose solutions instead of waiting for escalation.
Coordinate with site supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors to plan daily/weekly work.
Ensure safety standards are followed.
Assist in preparing material take-offs (MTO) and procurement schedules.
Liaise with suppliers for timely delivery and proper documentation (catalogues, datasheets, test reports).
Track inventory and ensure critical materials are available ahead of time.
Support the preparation of T&C procedures.
Assist with pressure testing, flushing, sequencing tests, and control system demonstrations.
Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and training documents for client handover.
Maintain updated project files, submissions, RFIs, progress reports, variation claims, and related records.
Prepare weekly progress updates for internal and client meetings.
Assist in aligning PM–Design–Accounts workflows (claims, variations, procurement, costing).
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
Experience in irrigation, plumbing, sanitary, or MEP works is an advantage.
Strong understanding (or willingness to learn) of hydraulic principles, control systems, and landscape irrigation practices.
Proactive, resourceful, and willing to take initiative — not waiting to be spoon-fed.
Strong coordination and communication skills.
Able to work independently and in a cross-department environment.
Good documentation habits.
Able to read drawings (AutoCAD knowledge is a plus).
Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn complex system designs.
Opportunity to work on large-scale, high-complexity irrigation and RWH systems across Singapore’s landmark projects.
Structured learning under an experienced team with clear growth path to Project Manager or Design Manager.
Exposure to full design-build-operate lifecycle — technical, commercial, and management experience.
Fast-paced, supportive environment that values initiative, ownership, and continuous improvement.
