Job description

We are searching for Assistant Procurement Manager, to be in charge of categories planning and purchasing, for Seafood, finger food and processed food.

Work Location will be at Pandan Loop.

As the champion of these categories in the business, you will ensure support from the leading suppliers to prioritise Bidfood as a strategic customer. Success is to maximise sales and DIFOT while avoiding all out of stocks, continually reviewing to optimise the product range and ensure that the category performance aligns with Bidfood's overall business objectives for growth.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Purchasing & Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate and complete weekly/monthly demand-supply forecasts that in line with Business development and Sales plan. Manage proper purchasing schedule and order arrangement to maintain supply flow to fulfil Bidfood requirements and priorities.
  • Utilize internal inventory smart planning & order system, to monitor inventory levels daily, optimise stock days on hand, conduct replenishment planning and identify slow moving lines.
  • Take required action quickly and decisively to ensure slow moving stock is cleared well before expiry date, to minimise obsolescence and write-off.
  • Work closely with Inventory team to ensure space capacity and inventory planning are aligned with incoming shipments prior to stock ordering.
2. Supplier Management
  • Own and manage supplier performances, including but not limited to supply OTIF, price competitiveness, and operation excellence.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to achieve preferential engagement with Bidfood in the form of price competitiveness, priority availability, market intel and opportunities for special deals, new products and marketing support ahead of other Singapore buyers.
  • Facilitate collaboration with suppliers for new product development and creative buying programs that provide opportunities for greater competitive advantage through pricing, product availability or new product innovation.
  • Ensure suppliers & the supplied products meet customer and in-house quality requirement, meet relevant importation regulations and food safety standards.
3. Cost and terms negotiation
  • Negotiate aggressively but fairly to ensure best cost price and payment terms to Bidfood at all times.
  • Develop below-the-line commercial terms in the form of payment discounts, growth incentives, marketing rebates, sales achievement rebates, volume discounts and other financial benefits that provide value to the business.
4. Category Management
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of the price drivers affecting pricing per product sku into Singapore and its impact on buy/hold/clear position that Bidfood needs to take.
  • Identify new products/suppliers that fulfil range gaps whether due to changing supplier circumstances or new growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Business development team, to develop and implement category strategies to achieve business objectives and goals that support market and sales team opportunities for growth. Curate a product assortment within the category, considering factors like product supply continuity, quality, pricing, and consumer demand.
  • Drive the growth and development of applicable Bidfood’s private label assortment in alignment with market demand, customer needs, and business objectives.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of products to continually identify poor performing lines for delisting and identify new product opportunities that will enhance the product range offer.
Requirements
  • 5 years experiences or more in procurement, supply chain, or planning sections. Food related experience will be advantageous in daily work.
