Job description

We are seeking a hands‑on and adaptable Assistant Finance Manager to support the financial setup and operations for new overseas schools. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role focuses on establishing robust financial processes and ensuring operational stability during the early stages of each new setup. This position involves frequent overseas travel to ensure proper implementation, provide guidance and training of local teams.

Job Role & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the finance setup for new overseas schools, including bank account opening, payment workflows, accounting system configuration, and establishment of internal control procedures.
  • Implement and oversee day‑to‑day finance operations (payments, invoicing, payroll coordination, and management reporting) during the pre‑opening and stabilization period.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and respective department heads to understand local business processes, unique market requirements, and operational challenges.
  • Develop and implement finance processes, templates, and checklists to ensure operational consistency across new markets.
  • Monitor and track budgets, costs and cashflows during setup and early operations.
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, tax agents and external service providers to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Conduct on‑site visits to support the finance setup, troubleshoot issues, and provide training or guidance to local finance teams.
  • Any ad‑hoc duties and projects as assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; CPA/CA qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in finance operations and accounting, experience in start‑up environments will be a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial workflows and internal control principles.
  • Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working independently in dynamic settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross‑cultural communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for overseas assignments.
