About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced editorial leader to drive daily news output and guide a team of writers and content creators. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our content is timely, accurate, and aligned with our editorial voice — impactful, engaging, and relatable.

You should have a razor-sharp sense of what’s interesting, weird, funny, outrageous or newsworthy — and know how to lead a team to chase, shape and deliver those stories at speed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily news output across our website and social platforms
• Assign, edit, and shape stories to meet editorial and performance goals.
• Spot viral trends or breaking news and assign these stories quickly, with a sharp news sense and social fluency
• Shape headlines and visuals that capture attention and drive clicks
• Participate in story ideation and development
• Jump in to write or produce content when needed
• Ensure all content is timely, accurate, and journalistically sound
• Keep tabs on content performance and iterate based on what works
• Manage team and workflows independently
• Collaborate with other editors and social team to maximise reach and shareability of articles

• Understands social media and digital storytelling
• Is hyper-aware of what’s trending online: good eye for viral stories, community buzz, and social media gold

• Enjoys mentoring others and bringing out the best in a team
• Is comfortable with shift work and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
