Job description

Enterprise Architect role for the APAC region to lead the architecture function across a portfolio of life and general insurance initiatives. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that combines deep technical expertise with business acumen to deliver scalable, future-proof insurance solutions across multiple markets. A can-do attitude is critical along with an ability to be strategic yet able to deep dive into application blueprints and designs

Develop and execute architectural strategies and roadmaps tailored to the region while ensuring alignment with global architecture principles. This role will lead and grow an experienced regional architecture team and work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders to drive innovation and consistency across IT delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the architecture strategy and technology roadmap for life and general insurance solutions across APAC, aligned with global architecture direction.
  • Lead the design and oversight of enterprise-wide solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with business goals.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of architects, ensuring continuous growth, technical excellence, and a strong architectural community of practice.
  • Act as the primary architecture advisor to regional executives and senior stakeholders across business and IT, influencing decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Champion enterprise architecture governance, including principles, standards, reference architectures, and review processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the global architecture team to ensure consistency in solution design, technology stack usage, and reuse of enterprise capabilities.
  • Lead architectural engagement throughout the full lifecycle of programs and projects, including strategy, design, delivery oversight, and post-implementation review.
  • Partner with engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure robust and pragmatic designs that are grounded in real-world implementation.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, regulatory trends, and market shifts to inform future-state architectures.
  • Establish architecture patterns, best practices and governance processes
  • Work with development teams to engage in strategic roadmap and delivery projects
  • Act as subject matter expert, providing guidance and support on IT related projects.
Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge across a range of modern technologies including Java, .NET, Kubernetes and Kafka. Experience designing and building Event and API driven platform architectures covering on-premise and cloud deployment. Must have knowledge and exposure to enterprise architecture, systems architecture and integration architecture standards, frameworks and best practices. Experience implementing micro-service solutions, utilizing automation and AI and an understanding of data platforms and real time processing.
  • Experience: 15+ years experience in senior architecture roles, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry. Enterprise architecture experience designing and implementing complex end-to-end software applications and platforms. Experience leading a team of architects, defining and enabling strategies and solutions. Adept at liaising with global architecture teams and business leaders to adopt and drive change.
  • Global/Regional: Ideally have at least 10+yrs of regional/global experience with responsibilities over multi-country architecture and delivery.
  • Business Engagement: Effective engagement and alignment of IT with executive sponsors and business stakeholders. Able to effectively manage and influence relationships with external stakeholders (i.e. vendors and consultants) and internal stakeholders (e.g. development and operational teams).
  • Communication: Can effectively discuss complex problems and solutions with different audiences at an appropriate level of detail i.e. technical vs non-technical audience. Able to give presentations to large groups of listeners and lead discussions to drive to a final decision or outcome.
  • Motivated & Enthusiastic: Self motivated and self-sufficient, ability to drive outcomes and deal well with ambiguity, deal with difficult situations and with change in a proactive and positive manner
