Overview

Name of Authority Valour Primary School

Contract Period: From 1 January 2026 to 25 December 2026

Option to Extend: From 26 December 2026 to 25 December 2027

Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break. Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general cleanliness and functionality of the Science labs and equipment.
• Monitor and manage stock-taking of equipment and Science resource materials.
• Maintain a catalogue of lab resources to assist teachers in planning of Science activities.
• Prepare lab materials/resources to ensure experiments are carried out effectively.
• Assist in the preparation of apparatus and equipment for lessons.
• Assist teachers when experiments are carried out during lessons.
• Keep a log on loaning and returning of apparatus by teachers.
• Sit in during Science Olympiad lessons.
• Any other jobs assigned by the department - administrative work which include collation of teaching and learning materials and preparation of resources necessary for teaching and learning in Science, helping during Science Practical Assessments.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Lab Technician/ Assistant.
• Relevant experience as a Lab Technician/ Assistant in a primary school setting is highly advantageous.
• Desirable Qualities of Personnel: Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with teachers, students and other stakeholders.
• Well-organised, meticulous and detailed in carrying out tasks.
