Overview
The System Configuration Management – SWD Engineer will design, implement, and maintain enterprise software deployment, OS imaging, and endpoint management solutions leveraging Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune in a hybrid on-premises / cloud environment.
Responsibilities
- SCCM Architecture & Operations: Configure and maintain SCCM site infrastructure, distribution points, client collections, and compliance baselines to ensure reliable software delivery.
- OS Imaging & Task Sequences: Build, update, and validate Windows 10 / 11 OS images; develop and maintain MDT / SCCM OSD task sequences for automated deployments.
- Application Packaging & Deployment: Package, test, and deploy MSI / App-V applications via SCCM and Intune; migrate legacy packages to modern management frameworks.
- Intune & MDM Management: Design and implement Intune device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and conditional access rules for mobile and desktop endpoints.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop PowerShell scripts to automate imaging, packaging, and reporting tasks, reducing manual effort and build time.
- Patch Management & Update Compliance: Plan and execute monthly patch cycles; monitor update deployments and remediate failures across Windows endpoints.
- Incident & Change Management: Troubleshoot SCCM / Intune-related incidents (e.g., PXE boot failures, content replication issues), escalate complex problems, and document resolutions.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with networking, security, and support teams to ensure certificates (PKI), firewall rules, and network services support endpoint management workflows.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience administering SCCM Current Branch and Microsoft Intune in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and PKI integration for certificate-based authentication.
- Proficiency with OS deployment tools : MDT, WDS, and SCCM OSD task sequences.
- PowerShell scripting skills for automation of packaging, imaging, and reporting.
- Must hold one of the following certifications : Microsoft Certified : Endpoint Administrator Associate Microsoft 365 Certified : Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
Other Qualifications (Good-to-Have)
- Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator Associate or CompTIA Security+
- Familiarity with additional MDM platforms (e.g., VMware Workspace ONE, Samsung Knox).
- Excellent documentation, knowledge-sharing, and customer-facing communication skills.
