Job description

Duties and Responsibilities
FINANCIAL RETURNS
  • Work within the monthly food cost budget, adjust requisitions to reduce waste and spoilage.
  • Create and implement menus, recipes, costing, and food quality standards.
  • Control all food requisitions and orders to ensure proper quantities and best quality are purchased.
PEOPLE
  • Provide direction to the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie.
  • Educate and train team members in compliance with company standards, service behaviors, and country regulations.
  • Continually train staff on a regular basis.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
  • Communicate politely and display courtesy to guests and internal customers.
  • Establish and maintain guest relations, deal effectively with guest issues, and take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints.
  • Ensure guest needs and reasonable requests are met.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
  • Ensure that equipment, stores, and working areas are in proper operational condition and cleaned regularly.
  • Maintain high quality of food up to the hotel standard.
  • Ensure all hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards are followed at all times.
ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Maintain a high standard of service to uphold the hotel's image and provide star-class service by fulfilling your duties as a Sous Chef professionally and efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • The ideal candidate must possess a High School Degree, Culinary Arts Graduate, Basic Food Hygiene Certificates, and at least two years of experience in a similar position (preferably in a five-star hotel).
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential; knowledge of other languages such as Arabic or Hindi is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are also appreciated.
