Overview
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Lead the design of user journeys, wireframes, high-fidelity UI mockups and interactive prototypes for websites, web applications and mobile apps.
- Own and grow a component-based design system (tokens, components, patterns) to ensure visual and interaction consistency across product and marketing surfaces.
- Run user research activities (interviews, usability tests, guerrilla testing) and convert findings into actionable product improvements.
- Produce responsive designs that solve for desktop, tablet and mobile breakpoints, and ensure a strong mobile experience.
- Create pixel-perfect designs and handoff artifacts (specs, annotations, assets) for engineering; collaborate closely through implementation to ensure fidelity.
- Facilitate and present design reviews, workshops, and design critiques with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Define and track usability metrics; iterate on flows based on analytics and qualitative feedback.
- Ensure accessibility (WCAG) best practices are followed and champion inclusive design across the product.
- Mentor mid/junior designers and help raise the team’s craft and process.
Skills
What background do I need for this job?
- 5+ years professional product design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating work across websites, web apps and mobile apps.
- Expert proficiency in Figma — wireframing, prototyping and component libraries.
- Strong visual design, interaction design and information architecture skills.
- Proven experience building or maintaining a design system and component libraries.
- Solid experience running user research and usability testing; able to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and a pragmatic understanding of frontend implementation constraints.
- Experience working in agile teams and using tools such as Jira / Confluence.
- Strong communication skills — able to present design rationale and influence stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience designing for accessibility and performance.
- Portfolio required — please include case studies that show problem, process, decisions and outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience designing SaaS products, admin consoles or complex workflows (document editors, signing flows, dashboards).
- Experience with design ops (design tokens, automated linting, Figma plugins).
- Experience designing for regulated industries or trust/security products.
- Background working with developers on React / component-driven frontends.
