The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position is responsible for preparing financial statements, overseeing daily accounting activities, and maintaining robust internal controls. The ideal candidate will also manage tax compliance, coordinate audits, and monitor financial performance, while providing leadership and mentorship to the accounting team. Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare quarterly and year‑end financial statements, accruals, journal entries, and cash flow reports, ensuring accurate reporting of fixed asset sales or disposals.
- Balance Sheet Management
- Review and reconcile all balance sheet accounts in accordance with IFRS and corporate standards, and prepare reconciliation packs with variance analysis for month‑end close processes.
- Daily Operations Oversight
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and income audit, while safeguarding financial assets, inventory, and statutory books.
- Compliance and Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting SOPs, assist with internal audits across all departments, and maintain robust control systems to safeguard income, expenses, and assets.
- Tax Compliance and Management
- Support in developing efficient tax structures and planning strategies, ensuring full compliance with ZATCA regulations, including the timely preparation and submission of zakat and VAT reports.
- Audit Coordination
- Act as the main point of contact during ZATCA audits and inspections, providing supporting documentation and managing disputes or appeals.
- Expense Monitoring
- Monitor expenses, review audit reports, investigate discrepancies impacting financial accuracy, and optimize fund utilization.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and mentor accounting team members, fostering an environment of learning, integrity, and collaboration while upholding the highest level of confidentiality and ethical standards.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred, with proven experience in accounting management.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, ZATCA regulations, and tax compliance, along with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
