Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 5–8 years of experience, and proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• Exposure to working with manufacturing teams or suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure designs align with brand positioning and target customer segments.
• Guide and mentor junior designers.
• Coordinate with Technical Engineers for design feasibility.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product Design Development Specialist - Furniture To create distinctive, market‑relevant, and brand‑aligned product designs for ABYAT that effectively balance customer needs, cost targets, manufacturing feasibility, and brand identity. The role is responsible for translating trends and insights into commercially successful furniture and interior solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new product concepts and design solutions for assigned categories, including:

1. Kitchens
2. Wardrobes
3. Beds
4. TV Units
5. Laundry Units
6. Bathroom Cabinets

Translate market trends, customer insights, and competitive analysis into commercially viable product designs.

Define and specify design elements, including:

1. Materials
2. Finishes
3. Color palettes
4. Overall design language

Ensure designs align with ABYAT’s brand positioning and target customer segments.

Guide, mentor, and review the work of junior designers to ensure quality and consistency.

Coordinate closely with Technical Engineers to ensure:

1. Design feasibility
2. Hardware and accessory compatibility
3. Production readiness and manufacturability

Participate in:

1. Concept development and presentations
2. Internal management and category reviews
3. Showroom mockups, prototypes, and display planning

Support cost optimization initiatives by proposing value‑engineered design alternatives without compromising aesthetics or quality.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines:

• Interior Design
• Industrial Design
• Architecture

Experience

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in furniture and/or interior product design.
• Proven experience in retail‑oriented design environments, preferably within large‑scale or multi‑category retail brands.
• Exposure to working with manufacturing teams, suppliers, or factories is highly desirable.

Software & Technical Skills

• AutoCAD (2D & 3D)
• SketchUp, 3ds Max, or equivalent advanced 3D design software
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
