Are you ready to lead a high-performing Medical Affairs team and make a significant impact in the Near East & Maghreb markets? As the Oncology Medical Director, you will drive strategic initiatives that align with AstraZeneca's Oncology Business Unit strategy, focusing on transforming clinical practices and improving patient care. With a deep understanding of local healthcare systems, you will ensure excellence in developing and delivering Medical Affairs Plans that generate confidence and evidence, ultimately strengthening healthcare ecosystems. Your leadership will activate scalable healthcare practice initiatives through coordinated partnerships with key stakeholders, driving operational efficiency and measurable outcomes. Join us in co-creating the Cluster strategy and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver impactful plans with an ambitious mindset.

Accountabilities
  • Ensure appropriate resources and setup of Near East & Maghreb Countries Medical Affairs function for maximum impact and efficiency.
  • Lead strategic direction, business planning, and team leadership within Near East & Maghreb Countries.
  • Represent the local company externally on science and healthcare topics.
  • Lead change initiatives and challenge current thinking within organizations.
Team Leader
  • Lead and mentor teams for performance, holding them accountable for impactful delivery.
  • Drive performance with impact-focused goals validated through data-driven insights.
  • Develop a collaborative, patient-centric culture with an innovative attitude.
  • Oversee HR activities including people development and talent management.
External Engagements
  • Understand global and local healthcare ecosystems, priorities, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Incorporate strategic solutions into Medical Affairs plans to strengthen healthcare ecosystems.
  • Establish collaborative links to advocate for policy changes.
Medical Governance Oversight
  • Conduct activities consistent with Company values and compliance with the Code of Ethics.
  • Ensure team compliance through training and encouraging a culture of willingness.
  • Address non-compliance immediately and provide resources to maintain Quality systems.
Skills/Experience
  • For Internal candidates, the applicants must be currently at Global Career level “ F/G “
  • Science degree in a scientific field
  • Extensive experience of Medical Affairs function within a pharmaceutical industry, with proven experience in Oncology Disease Areas
