Summary of the role:

The Mechanical Site Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing all mechanical works at the project site. The role ensures installations, testing, and commissioning are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, codes, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities:
  • Supervise installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, piping, and equipment.
  • Ensure all works are completed as per approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
  • Monitor daily activities and ensure progress meets project timelines.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Review mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
  • Conduct site inspections and verify work quality.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and civil works to avoid clashes.
  • Assist in testing, balancing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety rules and HSE procedures.
  • Implement quality control procedures and inspection test plans (ITPs).
  • Identify and report non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Ensure installation meets industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.).
  • Attend site meetings with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
  • Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment for work progress.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams for timely delivery of mechanical items.
  • Communicate technical issues or delays to the project manager.
  • Prepare daily and weekly site progress reports.
  • Maintain records of inspections, tests, and mechanical activities.
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and O&M documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of commissioning results.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in mechanical site execution (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, MEP, or related fields).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of mechanical calculations (duct sizing, pump head, pipe sizing).
  • Familiarity with commissioning procedures.
  • Proficiency in softwares such as AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and MS Office.
  • In‑depth knowledge of relevant international codes (IEC, NEC, BS, local regulations) and standards.
  • Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and technical excellence.
  • Strong understanding of project workflows, timelines, and coordination across all project phases.
  • Excellent in speaking Arabic and English languages.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
