Overview

The KFUPM Business School (KBS) and the Entrepreneurship Institute (EI) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) invite qualified candidates to apply for a faculty lecturer positions in the area of entrepreneurship and business administration. Individual will have two affiliations (KBS and EI) and expected to be dynamic, energetic and collegial faculty, who will champion the KBS and EI and its related academic programs and initiatives. KFUPM Business School (KBS) is the first business school in the region to receive the AACSB accreditation more than 10 years ago. The school offers five B.S. degrees in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management, and MIS. In addition, it offers three graduate program: Professional Masters (MX) in Supply Chain Management, MBA and EMBA degrees. In addition to being among the top business schools in the Middle East, the school has a new ambition to enhance its academic rank globally by focusing on publishing top quality research and maintaining excellence in education. The EI is an interdisciplinary entity that works with all of the colleges in the university. The Institute is committed to underpin the efforts of building entrepreneurial mindsets that will lead to high growth, high-tech entrepreneurial startups as well as graduate entrepreneurial leaders.

Job Responsibilities

Candidates will assist in academic planning; advising, teaching classes within the various academic programs in both KBS and the EI (i.e., all ENTR-related courses, BUS200 (Business & Entrepreneurship) course, an eventual Entrepreneurship Minor and certificate program, the various entrepreneurship-related student organizations, and related research initiatives). Also, candidates are expected to actively engage in the college’s and institute’s co-curricular activities and short courses. In addition, candidates are expected to mentor students engaged in entrepreneurial activities, including the EI incubator program and those working on entrepreneurship course projects. Also candidates are expected to cultivate relationships in the University; and collaboratively define/maintain the quality of students’ experiences within both KBS and the EI. Expected to teach courses on-campus at both the EI and the KBS with possible distance teaching assignments. Successful candidates are expected to in case-writing initiatives and projects. In addition, candidates will be involved in related committee work on Entrepreneurship Education including ventures creation, fundraising, and promoting all entrepreneurship associated curricular and co-curricular activities. Candidates are expected to meet the traditional requirements of excellence in teaching and service to the University and community.

Qualifications
  1. M.Sc. or MBA degree in Entrepreneurship or Business.
  2. Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  3. A minimum of five years of entrepreneurship experience; such as creating or working in startups, and/or working for business incubators.
  4. A record of outstanding education performance.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Ability to teach general entrepreneurship courses.
  2. Ability to apply experiential learning techniques and case teaching methods when teaching entrepreneurship.
  3. Willingness to teach students in the classroom and at a distance using alternative delivery methods.
  4. Have been involved and/or participated in entrepreneurship activities such as Business Plan Competitions, Startup Weekends, etc.
