About the job General Manager - Construction

Our client is a leading Construction Group with an excellent reputation.

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Responsible for leading and maximizing the returns of the construction development business unit by managing the Company’s business interests according to the company strategy, identifying opportunities to add value, and driving those strategic investments into development projects. Handling both internal and external projects and growth across the division. The role entails leading development projects, managing the current and future assets portfolio as well as leading the acquisition of new investment opportunities.

  • Reporting to CEO and Board
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage the business unit P&L by monitoring revenues and expenses to ensure they are aligned with the budget and make adjustments as necessary
  • Assess and revise the overall business unit strategy, in addition to formulating relevant growth plans for the business
  • Oversee the investment and development process from concept inception to asset handover
  • Maintain a consistent and substantial Construction program; as it is the company’s core business
  • Oversee all development projects, managing and maintaining on time, quality and budget goals
  • Suggest and analyse potential targets, provide ‘best use’ input into development plans, and oversee the evaluation of projects feasibility through developed ROI models and projected revenues and net profit
  • Lead the negotiation of contracts and agreements
  • Oversee Company’s assets operational and financial performance on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for division performance and KPIs
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal subsidiaries in the group for internal projects
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree – MBA is preferred
  • 15+ years experience
  • At least 5 years experience in a GM level position
  • At least 5 years experience in Saudi
  • Working on Residential, Commercial, Retail and Airport projects – ideally some experience in all
  • Able to manage large internal projects for the group plus expanding in to external agreements for projects
  • Must have experience in conceptualizing new real estate investments and developments
  • Experience in Project Management and leading Construction Projects
  • Strong experience covering various development projects including compounds, hotels, acquisitions, construction and real estate projects
  • Should have been responsible for a large region – preferably multiple city locations
  • Open to all Arab and Western nationals in Saudi now
