JOB SUMMARY

The Fabricator is responsible for carrying out fabrication, repair, and modification works on plant equipment, piping, and structural components in accordance with approved drawings, engineering specifications, safety standards, and maintenance procedures. The role supports safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations through high-quality fabrication and adherence to HSE requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Fabrication & Repair Works
    Perform fabrication, cutting, fitting, and assembly of metal components such as pipes, structural steel, platforms, supports, brackets, and equipment parts.
    Carry out repair and modification works on plant structures and mechanical equipment as per maintenance and project requirements.
    Measure, mark, and prepare materials accurately before fabrication.

  2. Drawing Interpretation & Execution
    Read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometrics, sketches, and work instructions.
    Execute jobs in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
    Ensure dimensional accuracy and proper alignment of fabricated components.

  3. Tools, Equipment & Material Handling
    Operate fabrication tools and equipment such as cutting machines, grinders, drilling machines, bending tools, and hand tools safely and effectively.
    Select appropriate materials and tools for each fabrication task.
    Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and used correctly.

  4. Quality Control & Inspection
    Inspect fabricated items for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
    Rectify fabrication defects or deviations as identified during inspection.
    Ensure workmanship meets required quality and engineering standards.

  5. Safety & Compliance
    Follow all site HSE procedures, including Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and toolbox talks.
    Use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
    Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately.

  6. Documentation & Reporting
    Complete fabrication and maintenance reports as per documentation procedures.
    Record job completion details and material usage accurately.
    Support audits and inspections by providing required documentation.

  7. Team Coordination & Support
    Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance disciplines for safe and efficient job execution.
    Support shutdown, turnaround, and emergency maintenance activities when required.
    Maintain good housekeeping in the work area at all times.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Fabricator.
Experience in industrial, petrochemical, oil & gas, power plant, or heavy engineering environments preferred.
Hands‑on experience in structural fabrication, piping fabrication, and equipment repair works.
