Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced E&I Supervisor to manage electrical and instrumentation activities during an upcoming shutdown in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering and at least 7-10 years of supervisory experience in petrochemical or industrial settings. Responsibilities include coordinating teams, ensuring compliance with safety and project specifications, and resolving any technical issues that arise. This is a full-time position for a two-month contract.

Contract Duration: 2 months

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all electrical and instrumentation activities during the upcoming shutdown/turnaround. The Supervisor will ensure all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with SABIC standards, project specifications, and industrial safety protocols. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to manage teams in a high‑pressure shutdown environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate E&I technicians, electricians, and instrument technicians during shutdown activities.
  • Ensure all electrical and instrumentation jobs comply with SABIC specifications, drawings, and ITP/QCP requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of E&I equipment.
  • Manage loop checking, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests (IR), function testing, and instrument calibration.
  • Monitor and verify work related to motors, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, field instruments, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, junction boxes, and cabling.
  • Review job packages, work permits, and ensure proper implementation of LOTO procedures.
  • Coordinate with planners, QA/QC, safety officers, and operations for smooth execution.
  • Ensure timely completion of shutdown tasks within the planned schedule.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rework.
  • Prepare daily progress reports, manpower allocation, and update status to site management.
  • Verify material availability, tools, test equipment, and ensure calibration certificates are valid.
  • Enforce strict safety compliance, PPE usage, and SABIC work permit requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering / Technology.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in E&I supervision within petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial plants.
    • Prior SABIC or major shutdown/turnaround experience is highly preferred.
    • Strong background in electrical systems, instrumentation equipment, and control systems.
  • Preferred Certifications: SABIC/Aramco Work Permit Holder, OSHA/NEBOSH/Electrical Safety Certification, Calibration & testing equipment training, Hazardous area (Ex) certification (ATEX/IECEX).
