Role Context

The District Manager provides leadership across a portfolio of Carrefour stores, translating national retail strategy into consistent store-level execution. The position requires regular store visits, detailed performance analysis, operational intervention, and close collaboration with store managers and Head Office functions. The role has direct influence over sales performance, profitability, asset productivity, merchandising standards, regulatory compliance, promotional execution, team capability, and customer experience. By identifying performance gaps and driving corrective actions across multiple locations, the District Manager helps create stronger operational consistency and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee performance across assigned Carrefour stores and ensure operational priorities remain aligned with Majid Al Futtaim Retail objectives.
• Conduct regular store visits to review commercial results, operational execution, customer experience, merchandising standards, and asset condition.
• Analyze store performance and identify actions that can strengthen profitability, productivity, sales, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure store assets are properly utilized, maintained, protected, and managed to support long-term commercial returns.
• Support development of the national supermarket concept and ensure consistent implementation across assigned locations.
• Monitor compliance with Majid Al Futtaim Retail policies, procedures, governance requirements, and operating standards.
• Ensure stores comply with applicable Saudi Arabian laws, regulations, safety requirements, and operational obligations.
• Review implementation of product assortment structures and verify that merchandising reflects approved commercial direction.
• Maintain high standards of product presentation, availability, promotional execution, and customer-facing store appearance.
• Coordinate internal functions to improve cooperation between Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Marketing, and other support teams.
• Support new store openings, refurbishment initiatives, and other retail projects throughout planning, implementation, and operational handover.
• Monitor promotional execution across the district and ensure stores maintain the intended campaign image and customer proposition.
• Establish clear performance expectations for store leadership teams and follow progress against agreed objectives.
• Provide constructive performance feedback and elevate material operational or commercial issues to senior management.
• Identify capability gaps within store leadership teams and provide recommendations for training and development.
• Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure priority development and training requirements are addressed.
• Strengthen communication between store teams and Head Office to ensure faster resolution of operational challenges.
• Share performance insights, operational risks, improvement opportunities, and progress updates with senior management.

Ideal Profile

The preferred candidate should hold a bachelor 's degree in a relevant discipline. An MBA would be advantageous. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience is expected in a comparable operational leadership role, including at least 3 years within supermarket Retail or a closely related grocery environment. Candidates should demonstrate strong experience managing multiple stores, leading store managers, improving commercial results, maintaining operating standards, and coordinating across business functions. The role requires excellent team leadership, negotiation, stakeholder management, business communication, and presentation skills. Strong commercial judgment is important for interpreting store performance, identifying root causes, and implementing improvement plans that produce measurable results.
