"When you work in Hawaii, in addition to learning about the functional aspects of running a hotel — like the proper way to make a bed or how to best handle luggage — it’s critically important to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family.’ When opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii, our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to help us understand what ‘ohana truly means."

We are looking for an experienced Director of Sales to lead the opening of Hyatt Place AlUla.

Hyatt Place AlUla represents a significant milestone in Hyatt’s expansion across the region and will feature 214 guestrooms, two food and beverage outlets, meeting space, swimming pool and a fitness center appealing to both leisure and business travelers.

About the Role

As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing the hotel’s sales strategy to achieve ambitious revenue and occupancy targets. You will lead, inspire, and build a high-performing sales team, forge strategic partnerships, and position the hotel as the destination of choice for discerning travelers, corporate groups, and event organizers. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will collaborate closely with marketing, revenue management, and operations to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive sales strategies across key market segments—including leisure, MICE, and group business—while overseeing all pre-opening sales activities to ensure a seamless transition from construction to a successful hotel launch.
  • Recruit, train, and lead a dynamic sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key clients, travel agencies, tour operators, and corporate partners, both locally and internationally.
  • Identify new business opportunities and innovative sales channels, leveraging AlUla’s unique appeal as a UNESCO World Heritage destination.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to adjust strategies and maintain a leading market position.
  • Collaborate with marketing and revenue management to develop compelling packages, promotions, and pricing strategies.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to enhance visibility and drive business.
  • Ensure exceptional client service standards and guest satisfaction throughout the sales process.
  • Prepare and manage the sales budget, forecasts, and performance reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior hotel sales leadership role, preferably with pre-opening experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Deep understanding of the Middle East market.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
