Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Chief Surveyor to lead all surveying activities for large-scale landscape, infrastructure, and construction projects. The role involves managing a team of surveyors, ensuring accurate site measurements, overseeing setting‑out works, and providing precise technical data to support project execution. The ideal candidate will maintain the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency throughout all surveying operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise surveying teams across multiple project sites, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project specifications.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all surveying works including topographic surveys, setting-out, as-built surveys, and boundary verification.
- Review project drawings, design layouts, and technical documents to determine surveying requirements and methods.
- Establish and maintain control points, benchmarks, and reference systems in accordance with project needs.
- Verify and ensure accuracy of measurements, levels, and coordinates across all site activities.
- Prepare and submit detailed survey reports, calculations, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate closely with project managers, site engineers, and construction teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
- Monitor and maintain surveying equipment, ensuring calibration and readiness for site operations.
- Identify potential issues related to site levels, alignments, or design discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in all surveying activities.
- Conduct training and performance evaluations for survey crew members.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in surveying within construction, landscape, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles, engineering drawings, and site construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in surveying instruments such as GPS, Total Station, Auto Level, and associated software (e.g., Civil 3D).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across various projects.
- Valid professional certifications are an advantage.
