Responsibilities
- Performing visual inspections, CIPS, and other tests to ensure the effectiveness of cathodic protection systems on pipelines and other structures.
- Conducting field measurements, such as potential profiles, current measurements, and DCVG and ACVG surveys.
- Identifying and analyzing defects in CP systems, equipment, or coatings, and providing recommendations for repair or improvement.
- Preparing detailed site visit reports, survey findings, and technical recommendations for the technical support unit or project management.
- Overseeing the work of subcontractors and other technicians, ensuring adherence to project procedures and standards.
- Assisting with site installation supervision and the start-up and commissioning of CP systems.
Skills
- A strong understanding of cathodic protection principles, including the design, testing, and maintenance of both galvanic and impressed systems.
- Proficiency in using specialized equipment for CIPS, DCVG, ACVG, and other field surveys.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, such as NACE, API, and ASTM.
