The Associate Director and Head of Legal, Saudi Arabia will be primarily responsible for providing strategic life sciences regulatory and commercial legal advice to the business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Gulf Countries. The role will focus on assessing, managing and explaining legal risk, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, providing education on relevant legal matters, and responding to the legal needs of the organization in the region.

The position will be based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and will have no direct reports.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal support across business operations including commercial, medical, R&D, and supporting functions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while managing legal and enterprise risks.
  • Act as the Legal representative on, and proactively participate in, certain Committees led by the General Manager and other members of the leadership team as part of the region governance model. Escalate issues appropriately.
  • Uphold company integrity, delivering legal education and training, supporting audits and internal investigations and collaborating with Compliance and the leadership team to promote a transparent and inclusive workplace culture, and trustworthy relationship.
  • Manage external legal support and prioritize workload according to business needs.
Qualifications:
  • Law degree and qualification to practice law from an accredited University.
  • An average of 10 years of professional qualified experience, preferably in life-science/pharmaceutical law.
  • Working experience with multinational pharmaceutical companies preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
