An Aircon Technician installs, inspects, services, and repairs air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The role requires diagnosing faults, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring systems meet safety and efficiency standards.
Install new air conditioning systems and components (split-type, window units, centralized systems, VRF/VRV).
Perform regular maintenance on HVAC systems (cleaning coils, replacing filters, checking refrigerant levels).
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults in AC systems.
Test and calibrate system performance using gauges and meters.
Read and interpret technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and manuals.
Handle refrigerants safely and comply with environmental regulations.
Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and part replacements.
Provide cost and time estimates for repairs or installations.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding service and repair needs.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.
Vocational diploma or certification in air conditioning technology or HVAC.
Proven experience as an HVAC technician or AC specialist.
Familiarity with air conditioning systems, tools, and components.
Good understanding of electrical circuits and mechanical systems.
Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
