A leading telecommunications company is seeking a Finance Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team. Responsibilities include overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations, and partnering with senior leadership to provide strategic financial insights. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in financial controls, tax compliance, and be a Certified Public Accountant.
Job Summary:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of nine accounting and tax professionals to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. Oversee the department’s daily operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, tax compliance, and general ledger management. Strengthen financial controls by designing and implementing robust policies, procedures, and internal safeguards to protect company assets and maintain regulatory compliance.
Partner with senior leadership to provide strategic financial insights, leveraging data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize revenue streams, and drive operational efficiency. Play a key role in shaping the company's financial strategy, ensuring sustainable growth and fiscal responsibility.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Tax Management
Prepares, finalizes the financial position, performance, and equity changes of company financial standing for the use of the Board, Investors, Management, Audit, Stakeholders, etc. to be used for planning and decision making.
Provides information about the economic resources of the company, claims, liabilities, equity and how these resources and claims have undergone change over a period of time.
Designs and develops periodical, weekly, and quarterly financial reports and administers general ledger reconciliations.
Maintains accuracy in all asset files, financial statements and provides support to all reports and bank accounts.
Coordinates with various departments and performs variation analyses for all technical accounting problems to frame accounting policies.
Manages schedule for all filing deadlines (NTC, BIR, SEC, BOC, LGU) and assists to close all procedures and ensures compliance to procedural and reporting standards.
Performs accounting controls by executing policies and manages financial statements, performs account reconciliations and makes necessary corrections.
Analyzes all proposed and existing legislation to avoid legal challenges in all financial reports.
Provides assistance to manage all ad hoc projects and assists management on all accounting activities.
Project Cost and Fixed Asset Management
Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms to record fixed assets.
Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
Provide project costs and accrual for month end closing and reports.
Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
Prepares base costs related to recurring projects.
Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
Calculate and analyze depreciation for all fixed assets
Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
Review and calculate the potential obsolescence of inventory and fixed assets.
Conduct periodic impairment reviews for fixed assets.
Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets and coordinate the closing of issues related to audits.
Cost Control and Disbursement
Review the commercial and tax provisions of the contracts.
Maintain, monitor, record and prepare vouchers for all nature of expenses.
Ensure validity of transactions according to corporate policies including compliance with guidelines and budgeted amounts.
Coordinate with various departments and maintain records for account payables including regular review of aging report of payable and accruals.
Collaborate with suppliers and resolve all issues of payment.
Maintain and update all journal entries related to expenses and payables and perform month end closing and audits.
Analyze processes, recommend improvements for same and manage all internal controls on documents. Perform vendor payment reconciliation on a monthly basis and serve as subject matter expert for various account payable functions.
Prepare reports for reconciliation and ledger accounts.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in Financial reporting
At least 2 years in Managerial role
Strong foundation in PFRS and Philippine Taxation
Strong understanding of financial and business controls
Experience with Finance/Accounting ERP systems
Experience in handling BIR audit
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 8 years total working experience
With working experience as an auditor in public firm
