A manufacturing company in Mexicali is looking for a motivated Planner/Buyer responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree related to business or supply chain and at least 5 years of experience in buying and planning. The role requires strong supplier relationship skills and SAP knowledge, with occasional travel to the US. Excellent English communication skills are mandatory for the position.

• Strong manufacturing background with supplier management experience.

Overview

New company in Mexicali is looking for a high energy, motivated team member, who is passionate about the procurement profession to fill an immediate opening as Planner/Buyer responsible for:

• Purchase, follow up, and ensure accurate delivery of materials and services.
• Review and react to MRP demand and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
• Provide feedback to production on raw material availability and schedule. Expedite or defer as necessary to support production plan.
• Build relationships with suppliers manage them for on-time-delivery (OTD), high quality, and service.
• Process requisitions, place POs, and update management on status of orders.
• Coordinate the importation of international goods into MX under Maquiladora laws and regulations
• Work with teams across US, Europe, and Asia to coordinate and leverage company’s purchases.
• Assesses risks of performance of suppliers.
• Occasional travel to US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or technical related field preferred.
• SAP expertise required and SAP S4/Hana version a plus
• 5+ years in buying, planning, other areas of supply chain or manufacturing control
• Strong manufacturing background.
• Experience sourcing battery or industrial electrical materials a plus
• Excellent written and spoken English skills required.
