Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and hands‑on Supply Chain and Procurement Supervisor to oversee all procurement and supply chain functions within our manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the purchasing team follows industry best practices, meets production schedules, and fulfills customer requirements. This role combines leadership with hands‑on involvement, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily procurement operations, ensuring efficient workload distribution and alignment with manufacturing production needs
- Lead, train, and mentor buyers to optimize sourcing and purchasing processes for raw materials, components, and services
- Develop and execute team forecasts, integrating procurement strategies with manufacturing KPIs and production targets
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, focusing on reliability, quality, and cost‑effectiveness
- Analyze commodity data to ensure supply chain resilience, including establishing backup suppliers for critical materials
- Implement and improve supply chain processes to support lean manufacturing and cost‑saving initiatives
- Oversee open purchase orders, expediting, and vendor management to minimize production delays
- Resolve supplier and buyer issues, escalating as needed, and fostering collaboration among cross‑functional teams
- Champion lean initiatives and best practices to enhance manufacturing efficiency
- Maintain accurate and organized records for compliance and audit readiness
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on manufacturing supply chains
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies in a manufacturing context
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
- English at advanced level (80% at least - writing, reading and conversation)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Background in rotating equipment or other industrial manufacturing environments
- Prior experience in fast‑paced, unpredictable manufacturing or repair service settings
- Strong initiative, “can do” attitude, and change agent mentality
