This is an on‑site hybrid role based out of Monterrey, MX. Reporting to the Senior Director, Supply Chain Region, the Senior Supplier Quality and Development Engineer plays a key role in the success of the Global Supply Chain Management function in North America. This position is responsible for leading and deploying both strategic and tactical Supplier Quality and Development initiatives across the Global Supply Chain for the Global Sourcing and Supplier Development Organization. The role will manage Supplier Quality and Development activities on sourcing projects and supply chain optimization efforts, applying technical knowledge and quality engineering expertise to meet or exceed project goals and milestones. Additionally, the engineer will provide quality and technical support for Supplier Development projects, including continuous improvement using Six Sigma and Lean tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and assess supplier capability, capacity, stability, and risk to enhance both the current and new supply base to meet or exceed Regal Rexnord's supplier performance measures.
- Participate in establishing and deploying standardized processes, policies & procedures, ensuring continued compliance.
- Demonstrate influential leadership to guide, mentor, and support the development of others by transferring skill, knowledge, and experience.
- Perform and analyze audit results to develop, prioritize, and execute corrective actions and Supplier Development Plans to continually improve supplier performance.
- Lead and drive supplier quality activities such as APQP, PPAP, corrective/preventive actions including continuous improvement techniques to help suppliers minimize process variation and achieve desired process control.
- Significantly contribute to technical quality issues collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers on cost‑reduction sourcing projects and strategic supply‑chain optimization initiatives.
- Refine and improve product and process quality as measured by supplier performance metrics, internal plant quality metrics, and external quality indicators.
- Mentor and coach both Regal Rexnord employees and Supplier Quality Engineers in the performance and execution of Regal Rexnord's Supplier Quality Systems according to policy and procedure.
- Maintain, monitor, and support accurate reporting of supplier metrics from global manufacturing facilities.
- Support problem identification and resolution of systemic supplier quality issues to deliver stakeholder expectations and enhance end‑user customer satisfaction.
- Provide support in establishing and implementing standardized quality best practices, processes, and procedures within the supply‑chain function and across suppliers.
- Utilize internal functional customer feedback as an input to drive continuous improvements across Regal Rexnord's supply chain.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of proven Supplier Quality or a mixture with Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Advanced degree preferred.
- Familiar with a variety of manufacturing processes, practices, and procedures.
- Specific knowledge of at least two key manufacturing areas such as metallurgy, heat treatment, castings, or forgings with foundry experience. Machining, plastics, or coatings is preferred.
- Strong expertise and demonstrated use of quality tools and principles such as Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, PFD, FMEA, PCP, MSA, and SPC.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to thoroughly analyze, interpret data, and make sound informed decisions.
- Strong experience in project management, including planning, supervising, monitoring, and accomplishing the goals of specific project requirements.
- Working knowledge of Supplier QMS assessment, ISO 14001, TS 16949, and AIAG CQI technical process audits with experience performing supplier audits.
- Experience in metrology, inspection and measurement techniques, and new product development processes.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and mindset to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of an organization in a team‑based matrix structure, including Regal Rexnord's supply base.
- Leadership experience with successfully leading teams and fostering key stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the organization in embracing quality change and communicating the value and need for change.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Quality/Engineering certification is highly preferred; Six Sigma or other professional society/organization certification is a plus.
Travel: Up to 50%, domestic.
