Salary: $30,000 - $35,000 MXN (depends on the experience)

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Senior Estimator role located in Mérida, YUC. The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, analyzing blueprints, and collaborating with project teams to establish budgets and timelines. The role will involve client communication, sourcing material costs, and ensuring estimates align with company standards and project specifications. The Senior Estimator will also provide support in negotiating contracts and ensuring projects are efficiently planned and executed.

Qualifications
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and complete full project estimates
  • Review construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, hard-bid, and budgetary estimates
  • Collect, qualify, and analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals
  • Contact subcontractors and vendors to request pricing and scope clarification
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Input and manage estimating data within Construction Online
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement using Construction Online
  • Analyze alternative construction methods and solutions during the bidding process
  • Identify potential risks and contribute to mitigation strategies
  • Support bid package preparation and internal reviews
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and operations teams
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating
  • Strong proficiency in English (verbal and written) — required to communicate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Experience performing quantity take-offs and preparing detailed estimates
  • Solid understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and pricing
  • Experience working with estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Building Connected, Pantera, Construction Online (preferred or willingness to learn quickly)
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mathematics, or related field (preferred)
