Global manufacturer and distributor of medical products with patient-centered solutions.

Position Overview: Lead, direct, and control the day-to-day activity (staffing and operations) of the plant. Manage an Ethylene Oxide (EO) sterilizing facility as a profit center. Ensure process and material flow are efficient and compliant with Quality control regulations, maximizing capacity utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure proper systems and resources are in place to meet processing schedules on time and maintain compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 1135, ISO 13485, and safety procedures, prioritizing safety for all operators and team members.
  2. Establish organizational structure by assigning responsibilities, delegating authority, and training staff.
  3. Lead facility staff through coaching, counseling, motivation, and discipline; monitor and appraise job performance; foster high employee morale and inter-departmental cooperation.
  4. Achieve financial objectives by preparing budgets, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions with support from internal financial teams.
  5. Maintain a safe, clean, and secure working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations; monitor safety and security systems; chair safety meetings.
  6. Manage production staff effectively to meet processing requirements; monitor preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime; plan for cobalt and EO requirements cost-effectively.
  7. Ensure compliance with corporate quality procedures through training and monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in general or operational management, or 3 years in sterilization operations management with ISO and/or GMP exposure, with a focus on customer service.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device sterilization preferred, or 5 years in management within Quality control regulations in aerospace or other critical sectors.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) at mid-high level; SAP, AS400 experience desirable.
  • Strong decision-making, negotiation, personnel management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence opinions and judgments, and make decisions under stress.
