A premier hospitality resort is seeking an English Teacher to join their People & Culture team. The ideal candidate will prepare and provide engaging learning activities focused on developing English language skills among employees. Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, assessing progress, and encouraging collaborative learning. The role requires a college degree in English education, certification as an English teacher, and 2-3 years of relevant experience. Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in English Education or related field.
  • Certified English teacher qualification.
  • 2-3 years of teaching experience.

The role of the English Teacher

The English Teacher is an essential member of the People & Culture team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our employees. The English Teacher prepares and provides grade‑relevant learning activities that enable employees to learn the principles of the English language including the rules of grammar and syntax, to develop an understanding and appreciation of literature and to advance students' verbal and written communication abilities.

Essential Functions
  • Ensuring correct grammar, writing, and reading comprehension.
  • Responsible for creating lesson plans that will teach employees the skills they need.
  • Answering employees’ questions, grading tests and essays, tracking progress, and teaching the importance of English.
  • Preparing instructional aids and supplemental teaching materials and resources consistent with learning objectives and employee needs.
  • Selecting and requisitioning appropriate books, instructional aids and school supplies as needed.
  • Delivering lessons using a variety of differentiated instructional techniques that are appropriate to the academic level and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Maximizing the appropriate use of technology as an instructional tool.
  • Teaching grammar and syntax, vocabulary, word usage and other principles of the English language.
  • Developing employees' verbal skills including reading out loud, discussion and debate.
  • Encouraging the development of critical thinking skills.
  • Helping employees to work independently and collaboratively in groups.
  • Establishing and maintaining standards of employee behavior that conform to Four Seasons policies.
  • Encouraging student responsibility, cooperation, tolerance and mutual respect in a manner consistent with Four Seasons policies and procedures.
  • Tracking and monitoring employee learning using a variety of techniques.
  • Preparing and administering assessments that are curriculum‑aligned.
  • Participating in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Undertaking professional development activities to ensure continued professional growth and development of teaching skills.
Knowledge and Skills
Education
  • College degree preferably specializing in English teaching.
Certification
  • Certified as an English teacher.
Experience
  • Experience required to have two to three years’ experience.
  • Solid grounding in teaching.
Skills and Abilities
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment.
  • Ability to read and speak and write English and Spanish.
  • Understanding and familiarity with quality standards and service standards of the hotel.
  • Highest level of integrity and transparency.
  • Apply an ethical approach to the outcome of situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
  • Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
