Purpose

The Import/Export Specialist is responsible for managing the efficient flow of goods across international borders, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and optimizing transportation and logistics processes. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth import and export operations in order to ensure proper discharge of annex 24 and balance of annex 31.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to arrange shipments and clear customs.
  • Monitor shipment progress and resolve any issues or delays.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including tariff classifications, quotas, and licensing requirements.
  • Calculate and manage import/export duties and taxes.
  • Maintain accurate records of import/export activities.
  • Research and analyze trade regulations and market conditions.
  • \>Coordinate with sales and procurement teams on international trade‑related matters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with international suppliers and customers.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, or related field.
  • 1–2 years in a similar position with an operations team, freight forwarder, international cargo transport, maritime, air and, merchandise clearance, customs controls, imports and exports.
