A leading international food distribution company located in Mexico is seeking a Head of Purchasing. This role involves leading the purchasing team, ensuring inventory turnover, and managing product availability. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in International Business or Logistics and at least 3 years of experience in purchasing leadership. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule with all legal benefits.

Head of Purchasing

We are seeking a purchasing professional with experience leading teams. Experience in purchasing across various countries in the Americas is required to ensure timely and accurate product availability, as well as the development of new suppliers, optimizing commercial terms to guarantee maximum profitability, ensuring inventory levels, and supporting product development.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a purchasing leader or managing a team of buyers.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Advanced English (Assessment required).
Responsibilities
  • Ensure inventory turnover without compromising availability.
  • Lead the purchasing team and establish processes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage the inventory catalog, add new products, identify slow-moving or near-expiration items, track inventory levels, etc.
  • Manage the timely supply of assigned products, ensuring availability and inventory control.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (logistics, accounting, sales, warehousing) to ensure the proper execution of the purchasing process.
  • Develop the purchasing team by establishing and analyzing performance indicators.
