Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related technical field.

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Maintenance Excellence Engineer – Automation & Robotics serves as a technical leader responsible for driving the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of highly automated warehouse systems, including sorters, conveyors, AMR/ACR robotic fleets, and PLC‑controlled equipment. This role provides advanced troubleshooting expertise, leads root cause analysis, mentors junior engineers/technicians, and partners with cross‑functional teams to ensure maximum system uptime and operational excellence.

Technical Leadership & Advanced Maintenance
  • Lead complex troubleshooting, diagnostics, and corrective maintenance on automation systems including conveyors, sorters, ASRS, AMR/ACR robots, and associated control systems.
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert for PLC logic, controls architecture, and industrial networks.
  • Perform advanced PLC programming, logic modifications, and system optimization to improve throughput, reliability, and system stability.
  • Conduct in‑depth root cause investigations and develop permanent corrective actions for chronic equipment failures.
  • Supporting automation integration and growth of multiple sites in North America.
  • Lead reliability improvement initiatives, downtime reduction plans, and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Drive process improvements in coordination with Engineering, Operations, and OEM vendors to enhance equipment performance and operational efficiency.
  • Analyse equipment performance data to identify trends, failure patterns, and optimization opportunities.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, lockout/tagout requirements, and quality standards.
  • Lead safety audits, equipment risk assessments, and implementation of protective system improvements (interlocks, sensors, E‑stops, etc.).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in automation, robotics maintenance, or industrial controls in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi) and industrial communication networks.
  • Strong understanding of robotics technology (AMR/ACR), conveyor systems, sorters, and warehouse automation equipment.
  • Advanced PLC programming experience including function blocks, ladder logic, and structured text.
  • Experience with SCADA, HMI development, and network infrastructure (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, Profibus etc.).

Position Summary

Conducts process validation activities related to design transfer and manufacturing improvement projects. Supports strategic initiatives such as CAPAs, remediations, and continuous improvement. Collects BOMs, drawings, and work instructions from Agile for product transfers, including translations.

  • Works with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team to understand and localize production processes and test requirements.
  • Supports sample builds and the development of local Work Instructions.
  • Supports and/or owns Design Verification and Process Validation build preparation for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, or as part of CAPA investigations and corrective actions.
  • Validates development tools of moderate complexity and compiles metrics and engineering data, including validation testing outputs.
  • Supports verification and validation protocols issued under NPI projects.
  • Supports and/or leads process validation activities per Master Validation Plans (IQ, Process Characterization, TMVs, CSV, OQ, and PQ), as well as BOM creation, manufacturing procedures, and product unit cost definition.
  • Troubleshoots production line issues, including performing root cause analysis for product, equipment, and system failures.
  • Collaborates with internal departments, vendors, and equipment suppliers to resolve issues and coordinate efforts in support of business objectives.
  • Ensures safety procedures are followed and leads by example.

GENERAL FUNCTION

The Logistics Industrial Engineer is responsible for supporting the North American Logistics Engineering department in the development, analysis, improvement, and implementation of process definition and control procedures, material and equipment specifications, and process yield capabilities to help improve the efficiencies and operating controls based in the assigned Region. The Engineer is also responsible for project management of logistics projects related to warehousing and distribution in North America.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads lean distribution initiatives to improve safety, reduce cycle times, improve productivity, improve process reliability, and improve customer satisfaction with respect to on‑time delivery and quality.
  • Leads root cause analysis investigations and recommends corrective actions and preventative actions.

  • Monitors and controls production processes to ensure compliance to specified requirements.
