A global technology company is seeking a Director of Security Governance based in the US, preferably in Boise or Plano. This role involves managing a high-performance team responsible for implementing security frameworks and ensuring compliance with certifications such as SOC 2 and PCI. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and extensive experience in IT and cybersecurity. The position offers collaborative opportunities within various departments and a chance to influence security strategies within the organization.
Location Expectations – This role is a hybrid position with the preferred location being Plano, Texas or Boise, Idaho and relocation is not offered for this position. Ericsson does not sponsor US work authorizations for this job position including H‑1B, O‑1, and TN. BEWS Security is responsible for end‑to‑end security matters within the Business Area (Enterprise and Product Security). Our role is to make sure that the Ericsson Security Strategy and Global guidelines are in place and aligned with the new business under responsibility of Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions. This team was created one year ago and is full of energy to make things happen. The Director of Security Governance will manage a team whose responsibilities encompass: the Security Certifications and attestations necessary to support the enterprise business, information security management (part of Ericsson ISMS), local security, steering documents (part of Ericsson Global Security Steering documents), third‑party security risk management, Info/IT security risks, security awareness. BEWS security has presence in Europe (Romania and Sweden), India and US. This employee should be based in Plano or Boise.
The Director of Security Governance should have expertise in enterprise companies that pose multiple certifications and presence worldwide. This professional will support the strength of security within the BA, so he/she should have a strong collaborative, hands‑on and positive mindset. The Director of Security Governance will be engaged in several initiatives that include implementation of ways of working, support ongoing projects (e.g., ISMS) and support the business answering questions, proposing awareness activities, and identifying new ways of working (when applicable). It is part of daily attribute the management of high‑performing team, removing roadblocks and guiding them to the correct initiatives. Also, this professional should work in partnership with other departments like IT, Product, Legal and any other support function within the organization.
