Senior Financial Analyst
This position is the vital starting point in our data management lifecycle.
You will be accountable for translating complex, unstructured financial spreadsheets, documents, and PDFs received from lenders, investors, and developers into standardized, structured data required for seamless operations. This role reports to a member of the Customer Success team and works on standard business hours with a cyclical workload.
Hours are typically heavier during month-end and quarter-end when new customers are onboarding.
You will also work cross-functionally with sales, sales enablement, and product to document and provide feedback on how to improve the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Data Mapping and Ingestion: Utilize Excel importer tool and software to accurately map and input complex financial data (including financial statements, project models, and production forecasts) from customer source documents into the platform.
- Data Validation and Reconciliation: Conduct line-by-line reconciliation of ingested data against source documents to identify and flag discrepancies, ensuring accuracy in all imported financial metrics.
- Structured Data Categorization: Apply knowledge of financial terminology (e.G., Debt Service, Principal Balance, EBITDA, Operating Expenses) to correctly categorize and organize data fields within the framework (e.G., Operations & Maintenance falls within the Operating Expenses category).
- Process Improvement: Provide feedback to the Product and Customer Success teams regarding common data ingestion challenges and opportunities to enhance the Excel importer and template mapping process.
- Process and Data Documentation: Help build a knowledge repository by documenting the process and metric information to train customers and future team members.
- Data Organization: Manage and organize a queue of customer data files, ensuring timely processing and adherence to internal data security protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience working with financial data
- Strong Financial Literacy: Demonstrated understanding of core financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), loan and project finance structures (e.G., special purpose vehicles), and general project finance terminology (e.G., leverage ratio, internal rate of return, debt service, cash flows).
- Data Integrity Focus: Dedication to maintaining high standards for data accuracy and completeness in a production environment.
- Communication and Project Management Skills: Ability to closely collaborate and manage workload with the Customer Success team, provide status updates, manage tasks independently, and document and communicate issues found during the mapping process.
- Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field is highly preferred.
