A manufacturing company in León, Mexico is seeking a responsible accountant to maintain financial records, perform reconciliations, and analyze production costs. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and have over 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting. Summary

Pilon Industries is looking for a responsible accountant to join our team! The candidate will have exceptional organizational and time management skills and experience working successfully in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include maintaining daily worksheets, reviewing, auditing, and managing production inventory and financials, managing expense reports and reimbursements, keeping and completing files, and reconciling invoices.

Must have exceptional communication and people skills and excellent attention to detail. Applicants with experience in a similar role are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • General Ledger & Reconciliation: Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and perform account reconciliations.
  • Accounts Payable: Assist with processing vendor payments and resolving discrepancies.
  • Inventory Accounting: Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventories to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
  • Cost Analysis: Collaborate with operations to track and analyze production costs, including labor and materials. Reconcile POs and invoices.
  • Monthly/Quarterly Close: Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Assist with reconciliation of filings in Mexico, fixed asset tracking, and adherence to internal controls.
  • Manage Contpaqi systems for accounting, administrative operations, and payroll
  • Manage and support administrative operations
  • Analyze and present financial evaluations for new projects
  • Payroll: Experience with processes related to the IMSS.
  • Taxes: Experience with processes related to the calculation of Local, State and Federal taxes. Experience filling for VAT returns.
  • International Trade: Experience on IMMEX program is a plus
  • Variance Analysis: Analyze and report on budget-to-actual variances, including cost deviations and operational performance. Review variance analysis between months and provide comments.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes, raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office, excel, and good typing skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles, professional manner and a robust ethical code.
  • Accuracy and skills in calculating figures, strong attention to detail and an ability to work independently on assigned duties.
