Resumen

The Buyer – MRP is responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect supplies to support production schedules in a maquiladora environment. This role ensures material availability through efficient use of the MRP system, vendor management, and alignment with company quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Responsabilidades

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system to generate purchase orders in line with production demand.

• Ensure the on-time procurement of materials and components to prevent line stoppages and production delays.

• Manage vendor relationships, including communication, follow-up, and negotiation of lead times, pricing, and delivery schedules.

• Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues related to quality, delays, or non-conformances.

• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Logistics teams to resolve material shortages or discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate purchasing records and update ERP/MRP data as needed.

• Coordinate with Customs/Logistics to ensure compliance with maquiladora import/export regulations.

• Support cost-reduction initiatives, vendor development, and continuous improvement activities.

• Prepare purchasing reports, KPIs, and analysis for management review.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, or related field.

• 2–4 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.

• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

• Familiarity with maquiladora processes and import/export regulations.

• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Bilingual: English and Spanish (intermediate to advanced level).
